New student candidates followed the entrance test of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM)
6.411 new student candidates followed the entrance test of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) of second cohort, on Monday (15/7). This number increases compared with the same cohort in previous year which was followed by 5.220 new student candidates.

The head of New Student Admission (PMB) UPT UMM, Dr Ermanu Azizulhakim, explained that the increase of the registrar number made him to prepare more test rooms. Almost all rooms in Campus III of UMM were used to hold the test which was conducted simultaneously in one day. Besides, the classrooms in GKB II, II and III, UMM Dome and AR Fahruddin mosque hall also became the location of UMM Scholastic test.
Previously, in registration process, invitation line selection, and Ist cohort test, it has been selected 2.774 student candidates. The number is a selection from approximately 4.600 enthusiast candidates. UMM still open registration in IIIrd cohort until August 24, but it is not intended to all Study Programs. "For those who don't pass the test in IInd cohort still have a chance to do better in IIIrd cohort," Ermanu said.
To anticipate the dishonesty as it was found in Ist chort test in March, again, UMM took tactical step. The participants were checked strictly, but the test still ran well. Instead, the strict inspection was appreciated positively by the honest participants. "Yes, I'm happy. So, I feel calm because of not competing with those who use tutor service," Bayu, one of test participant candidates, said.

Vice Rector I, Prof Dr Bambang Widagdo, MM is grateful that this year, the enthusiasts of UMM will increase. Technically, the increase can be caused by the increase of study programs which are opened, and non tehnically, it is caused by the better people's awaraness to study in university. “The number of Senior High School Graduates who continue their studies in universities in Indonesia are still relatively small compared with the number in other countries. This year, hopefully, indeed it is caused by the increase of study awareness to university," he said.
On that occasion, The Head of Daily Developer Board (BPH) of UMM, Prof. Dr. HA Malik Fadjar also observed the test. To the reporters, the former Education Minister invited all of us to uphold the honesty. This nation has been disturbed by dishonesty manners that make people worry about. “If someone who enters a university must use dishonest way, how if she/he has had job and position," he stated.
He added, the biggest challenge was how to tolerate the trespassings that exist or enforce the regulation because it had strong relation with trust. UMM, Malik said, was established by the high quality and trust of people, so that must be always kept.
Yesterday's selection reslut will be announced on Thursday (18/7) on announcement board at UMM campus and its website. The partcipants who pass the test can re-register until July 27.
